NYC’s street art scene got it’s kick-start from the likes of graffiti legends Basquiat and Keith Haring. For what’s happening with street art in New York City right now we recommend you check out Jonathan Levine Gallery which just moved from Chelsea to New Jersey (the new place to be)

On their books are some great NYC artists leading the movement, we’re particular fans of the Aakash Nihalani’s graphic optical style, we also love Dan Witz for his ultra-realist mosh pit paintings and eerie portraits of mobile phone users, and Olek, the Polish-born crochet-artist who has inspired countless yarn bombers (see works pictured).
