At autumn falls, the 55th Venice Biennale starts to wind down, but there’s still time for a flying visit and now is the moment to enjoy the art, without the crowds.  If time is short, we’d recommend the Giardini over the Arsenale, but do explore a few of the off-site pavilions and palaces dotted around the city, it’s a great excuse to see behind closed doors. We were lucky enough to catch the opening weekend in June – scroll to see a pictorial sampler of our favourites for Venice 2013.

While not officially part of the Biennale, it would be madness to visit Venice without popping in to see Rudolph Stingel at Palazzo Grassi, showing through to the end of December this year.
