La Perle: an innocuous-looking 70’s bistro has somehow become the hottest drinking haunt in Le Marais. Cheap and  cheerful, the crowd makes good drinking company – art students, international hipsters and the odd fashionista – Galliano was a regular before his infamous rant here.

The vinyl orange booths are great if you are with a bunch of friends, but the place gets so packed that everyone usually crams on the narrow pavement outside. As the night goes on the place gets electric, people get chatty and chances are, you’ll have the time of your life. If in doubt, flirt!
