We’re fond of Ottolenghi for many sentimental reasons – and it turns out we are not the only ones. Their Middle-Eastern inspired cuisine is to die for – refined and immensely stimulating to the senses (that’s smell, taste and sight).

If you want to eat in we recommend their Islington branch over their tiny Notting Hill shop, but expect to queue in peak-hours particularly weekend brunch. Alternatively their salads make great take-away meals. They’ve also opened a very nice, more upmarket restaurant, Nopi, in Soho (Nopi stands for North of Piccadilly) a tapas-style restaurant with a lovely atmosphere for dinner.

In the meantime you can always salivate over some of their best recipes on their blog or buy one of their wonderful cookbooks. We recommend Jerusalem (pictured below) over Plenty but both make great presents.
