Real food lovers will head off to Borough Market which is a stroll away from the Tate Modern. The market’s been made world famous by Jamie Olivier who we’ve seen whackin’ a load of fruits and veg beauties onto his vespa many times.

A look at what’s on offer and you realize how rich England’s food culture has now become. Just thinking about it makes us hungry! You can find just about anything there (Lakeland hares, anyone??), some of London’s best producers (The Ginger Pig, arguably the best meat you can get, Backhaus bakery for its German breads, wonderful apples and apple juices from Chegworth Valley, Italian hams from Gastronomica etc), and delicious snacks at lunchtime (meat baguettes at Hobbs Meat Roast, Oysters from Wright Brothers, tapas, tacos, falafels… all the be had with a latte at Monmouth Coffee Company).

Avoid Saturdays at it’s too packed to be fun.
